ROVeye offers a unique, immersive experience where you can control a mini submarine in a real aquarium. Explore underwater environments and interact with marine life from the comfort of your home!
It is currently a project under development, with funding helped by subscriber fans.
R.O.V. stands for Remotely Operated Vehicle, while “Eye” symbolizes the immersive experience of viewing the world from within. Together, “ROVeye” captures the essence of exploring and controlling your own submarine in a captivating underwater world.
Simply access the platform and log in or create an account if you don't have one.
Follow the platform instructions for starting a new live session, once ready you will be connected to the submarine and have full control over it while watching it's camera.
Once connected you can move the submarine with the browser controls similar to a game. You will be able to watch the fishes and environment while exploring on your own pace.
Explore the aquarium in complete darkness. Use your submarine’s headlights to reveal hidden creatures and secrets. Navigate through the mysterious depths and see what surprises the night holds.
Interact directly with the aquarium’s residents. Use your submarine to drop food and watch as the fish come to eat. Enjoy the simple pleasure of feeding them and seeing their reactions.
Guide your submarine to find and open treasure chests scattered throughout the aquarium. Discover exciting rewards and secrets as you explore and reveal what’s inside.
Find special items in the aquarium, and we’ll 3D print and send them to you as keepsakes. Collect unique finds from your underwater adventures and receive a tangible memory of your exploration
Here we try to build the submarine system, 3d printed prototypes, electronics and controllers, camera movement and a prototype tank with decoration and living creatures, water filter etc.
Build the web platform where users will sign in and connect to live sessions, showing live camera feed while sending control commands to submarine.
During prototyping and development, multiple times we will call for rounds of early testing and feedback so we can improve things faster while building.
Start inviting users from the waitlist to finally use the service.
Subscribers who helped fund the project will always have a fair priority for invites.
